Event highlights & Photo Gallery – April 9, 2025
On April 9, 2025, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)’s Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) proudly celebrated its official opening at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC).
This launch represents a renewed commitment to advancing circulatory and respiratory health research and translating it into real-world improvements in care for Canadians.
Dr. Ariane Marelli, ICRH’s Scientific Director, opened the event by sharing an overview of her inspiring vision for the Institute’s future, emphasizing its role in driving innovation through key activities and funding opportunities, improving patient outcomes and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations. During her presentation, Dr. Marelli proudly highlighted CIHR’s 25th anniversary by acknowledging past and current Scientific Directors from Montreal over the last 25 years.
The event brought together more than 70 researchers, clinicians and professionals. Several distinguished guest speakers offered kind words of encouragement and insightful remarks on the importance of circulatory and respiratory health.
The gathering concluded with light refreshments and networking, giving attendees a chance to connect and share ideas.
Activities resumed the following day with our first in-person IAB meeting in Montreal at our new RI-MUHC offices on Guy Street.
We extend a special thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter!
